A short report of the third day of the council.
The third day started with everyone posing for a photograph in support of the pussy-hats movement.
The third day of the UNIMA Council Meeting brought some important changes in the Rules of procedure of UNIMA. The councillors voted for the motion that members of UNIMA can observe the congress or council meeting electronically if the host provides the service. One of the changes is that the candidates for Executive Committee must be present at the congress in order to be elected. If they are not, their candidacy is void, except in cases of force majeure. Some important changes about the Agenda of the Congress were voted on with the intention of giving more space for presenting new and fresh ideas.
UNIMA Indonesia presented their ideas and venues for the UNIMA Congress and Festival in Sanur and Gianyar, Bali in 2020. The Festival will begin on 11th April and end on 18th; the Congress will begin on 14th April and end on 19th April. There will be a mixture of Indonesian and foreign performances; the hosts are preparing a symposium. A website for the event will be online soon.
The afternoon offered the possibility of a visit to the Figurentheater-Kolleg in Bochum (a college for further education in puppet theatre). The group of UNIMA councillors was delighted about the unique form of education offered by this college which offers courses and training to anyone who would like to learn and improve their skills in different performing arts.
